About MaldivInfo:

The DevInfo adaptation of Maldives, “MaldivInfo”, has been developed by the Ministry of Planning and National Development, Maldives in collaboration with UNICEF and other UN agencies. It is a part of the mandate of the ministry to support the statistical data requirements of policy-makers and to facilitate the development of an effective and efficient National Statistical System in Maldives.

MaldivInfo has already made important contributions in streamlining and standardizing national statistics in the Maldives. More than 280 indicators and more than 70,000 data values are available from four national Censuses, 25 years of statistics, and 7 national surveys. These include MDG indicators calculated from four census databases (1990, 1995, 2000 & 2006) down to the island level with standardized indicator definitions pertinent to the Maldives and the Statistical Yearbooks since 1990.

All national social surveys – including the Multiple Indicators Cluster Surveys (1995 & 2001), Reproductive Health Surveys (1999 & 2004) and the Vulnerability and Poverty Assessments (1998 & 2004) – are also incorporated in MaldivInfo, along with the latest Tsunami Impact Assessment Survey (2005).
